Born in January 1974, Ding Lei received his Bachelor's degree in Medicine from Shandong University in 1998. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of North Dakota, USA, in 2007. From 2007 to 2016, he conducted postdoctoral research in Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, USA, and subsequently served as an Assistant Research Scientist (2012-2016). In 2016, he returned to China and joined the Department of Basic Medicine at Jiangnan University's School of Medicine. Since August 2019, he has been serving as the Director of the Biochemistry Teaching and Research Office at Jiangnan University's School of Medicine. Professor Ding Lei has long been engaged in research on degenerative joint diseases. He has published 8 SCI papers as corresponding author/first author in journals such as the American Journal of Sports Medicine (2015), Osteoarthritis and Cartilage (2008, 2009, 2012), Journal of Orthopaedic Research (2014), Mediators of Inflammation (2017), The Knee (2020), and Asian Biomedicine (2021). He holds 1 authorized patent in China related to joint cartilage lesions. His papers have been highlighted and reviewed by academic institutions, including a highlight review by the Faculty of 1000 Medicine. |
