Born in May 1978, Qu Xiuxia obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Shandong University's School of Life Sciences in 2001. She earned her Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Peking University's School of Life Sciences in 2007. From 2008 to 2012, she conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Molecular Genetics at Indiana University School of Medicine, USA. In 2013, she worked as an Assistant Research Scientist at Riley Heart Research Center, Indiana University School of Medicine. In August 2013, she returned to China and joined the State Key Laboratory of Cardiovascular Disease at Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, as an Associate Researcher, where she contributed to establishing the Laboratory of Cardiac Development and Regeneration. In August 2016, she joined Jiangnan University's School of Medicine. Associate Professor Qu Xiuxia has a solid background in stem cell biology, genetics, and developmental biology. She has conducted research on hES and iPSC, focusing on molecular regulation of organogenesis such as lens and lacrimal gland in the mouse visual system during her postdoctoral training. Her subsequent research has involved cardiac development regulation and stem cell differentiation into cardiomyocytes. She has published 19 SCI papers and is currently involved in 2 national research projects, serving as the principal investigator for one of them. |
