The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, founded in 1972, is the largest and most robust health research base in the Gulf Coast region of the United States. The University consists of the Department of Biomedical Informatics, the Department of Dentistry, the Department of Biomedical Sciences, the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health, the School of Nursing, of which the Dental School is 100 years old and the Nursing School is ranked in the top 5% of all nursing schools in the nation, and boasts the nation's only Department of Biomedical Informatics and six branch campuses of the School of Public Health. In addition, as the sixth largest medical school in the nation, the university has the highest medical graduation rate in Texas, and its major teaching hospitals are Hermann Texas Medical Centre, Hermann Children's Hospital, Harris Johnson General Hospital and a psychiatric hospital.
On 18 November 2014, our university signed an inter-school cooperation agreement with Houston Health Science Center in Texas, U.S.A. The two sides will conduct in-depth exchanges and cooperation in curriculum construction, faculty training and mutual visits, and talent cultivation. In terms of curriculum construction, our school will focus on introducing the internationally accepted PBL teaching curriculum and CBL teaching curriculum through Houston Health Science Centre. In terms of teacher training, our institute can regularly select and send outstanding teachers to the United States for teaching, research and other related training. Meifa will also provide teaching resources and related courses for our outstanding students to travel and study in the United States.
